The comparison in brief
ParamedDoublo (Hironic, Korea) is a HIFU device for SMAS lifting that delivers focused ultrasound at 4.5 mm (SMAS) as well as 3.0 and 1.5 mm. A course is usually a single procedure with effect building over 3–6 months, then a maintenance session every 12–18 months. Accent Prime (Alma Lasers) is a combined RF + ultrasound platform; its main focus is the dermis at 1–4 mm (via UltraFace/TuneFace/UniLarge handpieces) plus Microplasma for fractional RF microneedling. Cumulative effect across a 4–6 session course. These are different methods: Doublo reaches deeper, to the SMAS; Accent works in the dermis and subcutaneous layer. Often it isn't «either-or» — they address different tasks.
When Accent Prime RF lifting is indicated
Paramed- ✅ Age-related changes of the face and neck
- ✅ Loss of firmness and elasticity
- ✅ Nasolabial folds and jowls
- ✅ Sagging facial oval
- ✅ Dull skin tone and lost radiance
- ✅ Fine lines around eyes and mouth
How we pick the protocol
ParamedAt the consultation the physician assesses skin condition, zones, goal and contraindications. If the goal is deep SMAS lifting, we recommend a HIFU device or thread lifting — we don't offer those. If the goal is rejuvenation, oval lifting, nasolabial folds, jowls or skin quality — we pick the optimal Accent Prime protocol: UltraFace for needle-free RF, Microplasma for fractional work, or a combination.
How the methods work
ParamedHIFU (Doublo): focused ultrasound creates thermal coagulation points at preset depths (1.5 / 3.0 / 4.5 mm). At 4.5 mm it reaches the SMAS — the layer surgeons tighten during a facelift. RF + ultrasound (Accent Prime): UniPolar RF heats the dermis and subcutaneous layer; cold ultrasound (Sharewave) additionally affects fat cells and lymphatic drainage. Treatment depth is primarily 1–4 mm. Microplasma on Accent is fractional RF via microneedles for skin quality.
- Doublo — HIFU, up to 4.5 mm (SMAS)
- Accent — RF + ultrasound, 1–4 mm (dermis)
- Doublo: 1 procedure + maintenance after one year
- Accent: 4–6 session course + maintenance
- Doublo: discomfort during the procedure is higher
- Accent: comfortable, no anaesthesia required
FAQ
Paramed? Do you have Doublo? ⌄
No. Doublo is a separate Korean HIFU device; we don't use it. For lifting at Paramed we work on Accent Prime (Alma Lasers, Israel) — RF + ultrasound + microplasma.
? Which is better — Doublo or Accent Prime? ⌄
It depends on the goal. For pronounced ptosis requiring SMAS work, HIFU (Doublo, Ulthera) is appropriate. For skin quality, light oval lifting, nasolabial folds and jowls — Accent Prime RF lifting works better and more comfortably.
? How often are sessions done? ⌄
Accent: 4–6 session course, one every 2–3 weeks; maintenance every 6–12 months. Doublo: usually 1 procedure + maintenance after 12–18 months.
? Is it painful? ⌄
Accent Prime RF lifting is comfortable, no anaesthesia required. Microplasma causes mild tingling. Doublo is notably more painful — local anaesthesia is often needed.
