Fotona 4D is a laser protocol from the Slovenian company Fotona on its SP Dynamis platform: four Er:YAG (2940 nm) and Nd:YAG (1064 nm) modes work the skin from inside the mouth, then the surface and deeper layers, for a non-surgical lifting effect. Accent Prime (Alma Lasers, Israel) tackles the same goal differently — heating the deeper layers with radiofrequency (RF) plus ultrasound to stimulate collagen and firm the contour. Paramed doesn't have a Fotona device; we do face lifting on Accent Prime. Contraindications apply.

How the methods work

Per the manufacturer, Fotona 4D has four steps: SmoothLiftin (Er:YAG inside the mouth), FRAC3 and PIANO (Nd:YAG for deep heating) and SupErficial (a light Er:YAG surface renewal). Accent Prime heats the dermis and subcutaneous layer with RF energy while an ultrasound handpiece deepens the effect on tissue; it's non-ablative, with no downtime.
