The Soprano platform in short
ParamedSoprano is Alma Lasers' family of diode hair-removal platforms. What separates it from a classic "stamping" alexandrite is the SHR technique: instead of one high-energy pulse per spot, the handpiece glides across the skin (In-Motion) while delivering a rapid series of low-energy pulses. The follicle heats gradually, and the sapphire tip's active contact ICE cooling draws heat off the surface throughout. Two things follow in practice: the session is noticeably easier to tolerate than on cryogen-cooled devices, and it can be run on any skin type — including darker and recently tanned skin, where a classic alexandrite is no longer safe. Paramed has three models of the line installed: Soprano ICE, Soprano Platinum and Soprano Titanium.

What this means in practice

How a session goes
ParamedThe area is shaved the day before or at the clinic — no wax, no epilator, the root has to stay in place. The doctor assesses skin type, hair colour and coarseness, then picks the model and settings; a test patch is usually done at the first visit. A thin layer of gel goes on, and the specialist sweeps the handpiece over the area in several passes until the required cumulative dose is reached. The sensation is building warmth, not a jab. Armpits take 3–5 minutes; full legs on Titanium around 15–20. You can go straight back to your day afterwards; mild redness and goosebump-like bumps around the follicles for a few hours are normal.
How ICE, Platinum and Titanium differ
ParamedAll three run the same SHR / In-Motion technique with ICE cooling. What differs is the set of wavelengths and the size of the window — that is, versatility and speed. Soprano ICE is an 810 nm diode: the baseline workhorse, and enough for the bulk of cases with light to medium skin and dark hair. Soprano Platinum adds 755 nm alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG alongside the diode — 755 nm sees fine and lighter dark hair better, while 1064 nm is safer on darker skin and reaches coarse hair more deeply. Soprano Titanium is the flagship: the same three wavelengths, but combined in a single handpiece firing simultaneously (TriPro), over a 4 cm² window. On large areas — back, full legs, full body — that is measurably faster.

Preparation & aftercare
Paramed- For 2–4 weeks do not pull hair out: no wax, epilator or sugaring — razor only
- Avoid strong sun and sunbeds for 2 weeks; wash off any self-tan beforehand
- Shave the area 12–24 hours before the visit
- Tell the doctor about retinoids, antibiotics and any photosensitising medication
- No deodorant, cream or oils on the area on the day
- First 24–48 hours: no sauna, pool, hot bath or sweaty exercise
- SPF 30–50 on exposed areas for 2 weeks
- Moisturiser or panthenol if there is redness
- Treated hairs shed over 1–3 weeks — do not pull them, shaving is fine
- Between sessions, shaving only
How many sessions you need
ParamedA laser only affects hairs in the active growth phase, and at any given moment those are only a fraction of the follicles in an area — which is why a course is not optional. The guide figure for the body is 6–8 sessions 4–6 weeks apart; for the face and hormone-driven areas (chin, neck, linea alba) 8–10 sessions 3–4 weeks apart, because the cycle there is shorter and a hormonal driver is often present. After the course, a maintenance session every 6–12 months. Visible thinning usually shows after 2–3 sessions.
Soprano or alexandrite
ParamedA classic 755 nm alexandrite (Candela GentleLase, Cynosure Apogee and equivalents) stamps a spot-sized pulse with a cryogen spray and delivers very fast results on light skin with dark hair — but it is limited to skin types I–III and sits badly with a tan. Soprano covers the full range of skin types and is gentler, and on Platinum and Titanium the same 755 nm is present inside the platform. Paramed also has a standalone Arion 755 nm alexandrite laser — if alexandrite is objectively the better answer in your case, the doctor will offer that rather than bending the problem to fit one device.
Contraindications

Paramed? Which Soprano model is best? ⌄
There is no universal answer. Titanium is the fastest and most versatile — three wavelengths in one handpiece and a 4 cm² window. Platinum offers the same wavelength set through separate handpieces. ICE is the 810 nm diode and is enough for most cases with light to medium skin and dark hair. At the consultation the doctor looks at your skin type, hair colour and coarseness, and proposes the model that fits.
? What does Soprano hair removal cost in Baku? ⌄

? Does it hurt? ⌄
SHR with ICE cooling is noticeably easier than a cryogen alexandrite. Most people describe building warmth with a prickling edge. Anaesthetic is normally not needed; deep bikini and the upper lip are the most sensitive.
? Can it be used on dark or tanned skin? ⌄
Darker skin (types IV–VI) is a direct indication for Soprano: the SHR technique and the 1064 nm Nd:YAG on Platinum and Titanium work where alexandrite is contraindicated. A fresh tan is still a no — wait about 2 weeks.
? Are Soprano Titanium and Soprano Accord the same thing? ⌄
No. Soprano Accord is a rebrand of the earlier Soprano XLi — an 810 nm diode without 755 nm. Titanium is the current flagship with three wavelengths in a single handpiece. Paramed runs ICE, Platinum and Titanium.
? When will I see results? ⌄
Thinning is usually noticeable after 2–3 sessions. A durable result comes towards the end of a 6–8 session course on the body; the face and hormone-driven areas usually need 8–10.
? Does Soprano work on grey or blonde hair? ⌄
No — every hair-removal laser works through melanin, and grey or genuinely blonde hair has none. Electrolysis exists for those hairs, and at the consultation the doctor will say plainly if a laser will not solve your case.
? Can I have treatment in summer? ⌄
Yes, provided the area is not getting strong sun and you use SPF 30–50. The requirement is the same year-round: no fresh tan on the day of treatment.
