Overview
ParamedLipolytics are a non-surgical, non-liposuction method of localised fat reduction by injection. At Paramed we use two Korean products: Lipolax and Lipolab (Caregen). Both share the same mechanism — phosphatidylcholine + deoxycholic acid disrupt fat-cell membranes, after which the broken-down fat is cleared by the lymphatic system. The method suits small localised fat deposits — double chin, flanks, banana fold under the buttocks, knees, inner thighs. It is NOT a method of overall weight loss and NOT a replacement for liposuction in large volumes. Best for stubborn pockets that don't respond to diet and exercise. Course — 2–4 sessions spaced 2–3 weeks apart. A consultation is required; contraindications apply.
What changes after the course
Paramed- ✅ Volume reduction of "stubborn" fat zones by 1–3 cm in circumference
- ✅ Sharper jawline — double chin recedes
- ✅ Smoother flanks and banana fold
- ✅ Inner thighs — less friction between legs
- ✅ Non-surgical, no general anaesthesia, no extended downtime
- ✅ Result is durable while weight and activity stay stable
How the procedure goes
ParamedAfter an in-person consultation the practitioner identifies the target zones and product volume. The skin is cleansed and topical anaesthetic is applied (15–20 minutes). The product is then injected as multiple micro-injections in a grid pattern into the subcutaneous fat layer. Duration: 20–40 minutes depending on the number of zones. Immediately after — light massage and a cold compress. Swelling and mild bruising are possible for 3–7 days. From day two you can return to normal activity; intense workouts — after 48 hours.
How lipolytics work
ParamedThe active formula combines phosphatidylcholine (PPC, marked "PC") and deoxycholic acid (DC). Phosphatidylcholine emulsifies fat — turning dense adipocytes into an emulsion accessible to the lymphatic system. Deoxycholic acid disrupts the membranes of fat cells (adipocytolysis), triggering apoptosis. The released triglycerides are gradually cleared by the lymphatic system over 4–8 weeks and metabolised by the liver. The product is delivered via multiple micro-injections in a grid pattern into the subcutaneous fat layer (5–15 ml per zone depending on size). The effect builds over 4–6 weeks after each session. Lipolax and Lipolab share the same drug class and similar composition; the differences are in concentration and auxiliary components.
- Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) — emulsifies fat
- Deoxycholic acid (DC) — disrupts fat-cell membranes
- Cleared via lymphatics, metabolised by the liver
- Effect builds over 4–8 weeks after a session
- Does not work on lax skin — that's a different concern (RF/ultrasound)
- Not for overall weight loss
Preparation and aftercare
Paramed- 7 days before — stop blood-thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen) with your doctor's approval
- 3 days before — no active peels, no sun exposure on the target zone
- 24 hours before — no alcohol
- The skin in the treatment zone must be free of inflammation
- Wear comfortable clothing that doesn't compress the zone
- First 24 hours — no intense exercise, sauna or steam room
- Cold compresses for swelling (15 min × 3–4 times a day)
- Light lymphatic self-massage from day 3 — speeds clearance
- Adequate water intake — minimum 2 L/day for the first 2 weeks
- On larger zones — compression garments for the first 5–7 days (by indication)
- Do not press or knead the zone forcefully for the first 48 hours
FAQ
Paramed? How is Lipolax different from Lipolab? ⌄
Both are Korean and use phosphatidylcholine + deoxycholic acid. Lipolab is Caregen's line (same maker as Dermaheal). Lipolax is a separate brand. Clinical efficacy is comparable; the practitioner picks the right one during consultation.
? Is it painful? ⌄
Topical anaesthetic is applied (15–20 minutes before the procedure). The injections feel like light pricks. Discomfort is minimal; no syringe anaesthesia is needed.
? When are results visible? ⌄
First changes — 2–3 weeks after the first session. Noticeable volume reduction — after the second session. Maximum effect — 6–8 weeks after the final session in the course.
? How many sessions for a double chin? ⌄
Typically 2–4 sessions. Depends on severity: a thin pad — 2 sessions, a marked double chin — 3–4 sessions. Your practitioner will set the exact number.
? Will the fat come back? ⌄
If your weight and activity stay steady — no. Destroyed fat cells don't regenerate. But if overall weight increases, the remaining cells in the zone can grow in size.
? Can lipolytics be used on the face? ⌄
On the chin — yes. On the cheeks / cheekbones — no: facial fat is an important part of midface volume and removing it accelerates an aged look.
? Will there be swelling or bruises? ⌄
Swelling is part of the mechanism (it triggers lymphatic drainage). It lasts 3–7 days. Small bruises are possible on thin skin but stay minor.
? Is this an alternative to liposuction? ⌄
No — different methods for different goals. Liposuction is for large volumes and fast results (surgical). Lipolytics are for small "stubborn" zones without surgery. They often complement each other.

ParamedCourse plan
ParamedA standard course is 2–4 sessions per zone spaced 2–3 weeks apart. Per-session product volume depends on the zone: chin ~5 ml, flanks ~10–15 ml each side, knees ~5–10 ml. Visible volume reduction typically appears after the 2nd session; maximum effect — 6–8 weeks after the final session. Multiple zones can be treated in parallel. No maintenance sessions are needed — results are stable while weight stays steady.

- Needle-free, no injections
- Additional skin tightening
- Works well on cellulite
- Suits larger zones (thighs, abdomen, back)
- Higher full-course cost — 6–10 sessions

Why Paramed
ParamedAt Paramed in Baku we use original, certified Lipolax and Lipolab products supplied by official Korean distributors. We monitor expiration dates and storage conditions and tailor product and protocol individually. A dermatologist-cosmetologist assesses fat distribution and builds the plan — how many sessions, which zones, in what order. Where appropriate, we combine lipolytics with device-based methods (Accent Prime, NIR thermolifting) to simultaneously address skin tightness.
