A core (seed) callus is a deep callus with a hard central root that presses on the nerve endings and hurts when you walk. Unlike a simple callus, it has to be drilled out together with the root, otherwise it comes back. At Paramed a podologist removes it with a rotary tool and sterile burrs, relieving the pressure pain; contraindications apply.
The specialist identifies the core, drills it out with its root, treats the bed and applies a protective dressing if needed. The session is short and low-pain.
The podologist drills out the keratin core and its root with a sterile burr, then treats the bed. CO2 laser may be used for stubborn or recurrent cores. Pressure pain usually eases right after the procedure.

Core callus removal using a podologist's rotary tool and sterile burrs is more effective than traditional filing methods, which often do not address the root of the problem. Unlike surface treatments, this method ensures the core is fully removed, reducing the likelihood of recurrence.
