The area under the eyes has the thinnest and most delicate skin on the face: only 0.5 mm thick, minimal subcutaneous fat, active lymphatic flow, and a network of translucent vessels. As the dermis thins with age, dark circles appear (often not due to pigmentation, but rather a vascular component visible through the thin skin), along with fine wrinkles and a 'tired look.' Hyaluronic fillers in the tear trough restore volume but do not address skin quality issues. Polydeoxyribonucleotides (PDRN) specifically target quality: they thicken the dermis, improve its own collagen framework, and reduce the visibility of blood vessels. PhilArt EYE is the only polydeoxyribonucleotide protocol specifically certified for the under-eye area. At Paramed, PhilArt EYE and the Italian Plinest are used for a more pronounced effect.
During the consultation, the doctor assesses the cause of dark circles: vascular component, pigment, shadow from the nasolacrimal groove, thin skin. PhilArt EYE or Plinest is injected with a thin needle (30–32G) using the micropapule technique in the under-eye area, on the lower eyelid (if indicated), and in the cheekbone area. The session lasts 20–30 minutes, with topical anesthesia. The course consists of 3–4 procedures with an interval of 2–3 weeks. Maintenance is once every 4–6 months.
It depends on their nature. If the bluish hue is due to translucent vessels through thin skin, PDRN works well: the skin thickens, and the vessels become less visible. If dark circles are due to pigment or shadow from the nasolacrimal groove, additional methods (lightening protocols or fillers) are needed. This is determined during the consultation.
Biorevitalization hydrates — providing hydration and radiance. PhilArt EYE and Plinest restructure the dermis itself — making it denser. The effect is deeper and longer-lasting, but builds up over 2–3 months.
Yes, this is a common combination. First, a PDRN course for skin quality, then a filler for volume correction — or vice versa, with an interval of 2–3 weeks.
Topical anesthesia is used. Discomfort is minimal — the micropapule technique is delicate.
Slight improvement in tone — within 1–2 weeks. Skin thickening and visible reduction of the bluish hue — within 4–8 weeks, as collagen builds up.
Schedule a consultation at Paramed — the doctor will determine the cause of dark circles and select a protocol with PhilArt EYE or Plinest, if necessary in conjunction with a filler.
