The Er:YAG erbium laser at 2940 nm (standard and iPixel modes) gives more superficial ablation with less residual heat, so downtime is shorter. The fractional CO2 laser (Pixel CO2, 10,600 nm) combines tissue vaporisation with strong dermal heating — stronger remodelling, longer recovery. Stop active sun, tanning beds and self-tanner 2–4 weeks before.
Stop retinoids, acids and abrasive scrubs 5–7 days before.
If you are prone to herpes, antiviral prophylaxis is prescribed beforehand.

After the procedure

Redness, swelling and tightness in the first days are an expected reaction.
Use the prescribed healing products and never pick the crusts.
SPF 50+ daily and at least a month without strong sun or tanning beds.
No sauna, pool, sport or steaming for the period your doctor specifies.
Make-up only after the epidermis has fully recovered.
