Overview
ParamedFacial blushing syndrome (erythrophobia) is sudden, intense flushing of the face when you are nervous, talking, at work or simply when people look at you. Over time a fear of blushing joins in, and that fear itself triggers new flushes — a vicious circle. The syndrome has two sides: vascular (sensitive, dilated surface vessels and background redness) and psychological. That is why at Paramed we treat it as a combination — with the Dye-VL laser and together with psychologists.
Benefits
Paramed- ✅ Both causes treated at once — vascular and psychological
- ✅ Less visible background redness and vascular network
- ✅ Flushes are weaker and less noticeable
- ✅ No surgery and no lengthy recovery
- ✅ A personal plan: a laser course plus work with a psychologist
How it works
Paramed1. Doctor's consultation: skin examination, a talk about when and how the redness appears, and ruling out other causes (rosacea, couperose, hormonal flushes, medication). 2. Treatment plan: a Dye-VL course and a referral to the psychologist. 3. Dye-VL session: the skin is cleansed, protective goggles go on, and the doctor treats the red areas with light pulses — 30–60 minutes, you feel mild warmth. 4. Work with the psychologist alongside the course.
Technology
ParamedThe Dye-VL handpiece on the Harmony XL Pro platform (Alma Lasers) handles the vascular side. The light pulse is absorbed by haemoglobin in dilated surface vessels and coagulates them without damaging the surrounding skin. Background redness fades and the vascular network becomes less visible — so flushes are weaker and less noticeable. The psychologist works on the other half of the problem: the anxiety and fear of blushing that set the flushing off.
- Dye-VL on Harmony XL Pro — works on dilated vessels and background redness
- Psychologist — works on the fear of blushing and anxiety
- The doctor first rules out other causes of redness: rosacea, couperose, hormonal flushes, medication
- 30–60-minute session, no lengthy recovery
- Rosacea treatment All programmes for rosacea, couperose and redness — Dye-VL and LP Nd:YAG.
- Persistent-redness rosacea If the redness is constant rather than in episodes.

FAQ
Paramed? What is facial blushing syndrome? ⌄
Sudden, intense facial flushing when you are nervous, talking or the centre of attention. A fear of blushing often joins in, and that fear itself triggers new flushes.
? Why is it treated together with a psychologist? ⌄
Because the syndrome has two causes. The Dye-VL laser reduces dilated vessels and background redness, while the psychologist works on the fear of blushing and anxiety — what triggers the flushing. Together we break the vicious circle.
? What does the Dye-VL laser do? ⌄
The Dye-VL handpiece on Harmony XL Pro coagulates dilated surface vessels and reduces background redness without damaging the surrounding skin. Flushes become less visible.
? How many sessions are needed? ⌄
Usually 3 to 6 Dye-VL sessions — the doctor sets the number individually. For the face there is a course of 4 sessions for the price of 3.
? Does it hurt? ⌄
The procedure is comfortable: you feel mild warmth. It takes 30–60 minutes, with no lengthy recovery.
? How much does it cost? ⌄
Cheeks 100 AZN, full face 200 AZN, a 4-session face course 600 AZN. The doctor will give the exact price at consultation.

ParamedCourse plan
ParamedThe number of Dye-VL sessions is set individually — usually 3 to 6, depending on your skin and vessels. For the face there is a course of 4 sessions for the price of 3. Work with the psychologist runs in parallel; its format and length are agreed separately. The doctor draws up the exact plan at consultation.
Comparison
ParamedBlushing syndrome looks like persistent rosacea redness or couperose, but differs in one key way: the redness comes in episodes — triggered by nerves, attention or stress — and between them the skin can look almost normal. So a laser alone is not enough, and neither is therapy alone: Dye-VL reduces the vascular component, the psychologist works on what triggers the flushing. If your redness is constant, see also persistent-redness rosacea treatment and couperose treatment.
