Overview
ParamedRadiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) product by Merz Aesthetics. It works in two stages. Right after injection the gel carrier restores volume and smooths the fold — you see the result during the treatment. The hydroxylapatite microspheres then act as a scaffold on which fibroblasts build new collagen of your own, so the skin becomes denser and the effect lasts after the gel has been absorbed. Radiesse is used for nasolabial folds and wrinkles, cheekbones and the mid-face, jawline contour and hand rejuvenation. A consultation is required; there are contraindications.
Benefits
Paramed- ✅ Visible result straight after the treatment
- ✅ Your own collagen — denser skin, not just filled
- ✅ A firm gel that holds shape: suits cheekbones and the jawline
- ✅ Hand rejuvenation — restores volume on the back of the hands
- ✅ The effect usually lasts about a year, longer for some patients
How it works
ParamedThe area is cleansed and disinfected; a numbing cream is applied if needed. The product is injected deep — under the skin or just above the bone — with a cannula or needle in small amounts, and the doctor then spreads it evenly. The treatment takes about 30–45 minutes depending on the area. The result is visible straight away, and over the following months your own collagen keeps it going.
Technology
ParamedRadiesse contains smooth calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres of 25–45 µm suspended in a water-based carboxymethylcellulose gel. Calcium hydroxylapatite is the same mineral compound found in bones and teeth, so the body knows it well. The gel is absorbed over several months, and during that time the microspheres stimulate type I collagen and elastin. Eventually the microspheres themselves break down into calcium and phosphate ions, which the body clears naturally. Radiesse (+) contains 0.3% lidocaine, which makes the treatment noticeably more comfortable.

FAQ
Paramed? Is Radiesse a filler or a biostimulator? ⌄
Both. The gel restores volume straight away like a filler, and the calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres then trigger your own collagen like a biostimulator.
? How long does the result last? ⌄
Usually about 12 months, longer for some patients. It depends on the area, the amount and your metabolism.
? Can Radiesse be dissolved if I don't like the result? ⌄
No. Unlike hyaluronic fillers, it isn't affected by hyaluronidase. That is why careful assessment and technique matter, and why Radiesse isn't used in the lips or under the eyes.
? Is Radiesse suitable for lips? ⌄
No. Lips are treated with hyaluronic fillers, which are softer and can be dissolved if needed.
? Does it hurt? ⌄
It is moderately uncomfortable. Radiesse (+) contains lidocaine, and the doctor can add a numbing cream if needed.
? How much does Radiesse cost? ⌄
The price depends on the area and the amount of product — the doctor quotes it at the consultation after an assessment.

ParamedCourse plan
ParamedOne treatment is usually enough; after a few weeks the doctor reviews the result and adds a touch-up if needed. Your own collagen builds up over the months after the injection. The effect usually lasts about 12 months, longer for some patients; a repeat treatment is planned after a review.
Comparison
ParamedThe main difference from hyaluronic fillers (Juvederm, Neuramis, Revofil and others) is that Radiesse does not just fill — it also stimulates your own collagen. The flip side: a hyaluronic filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase and Radiesse cannot, which is why hyaluronic products are chosen for the lips and under the eyes. Compared with AestheFill (PDLLA), Radiesse gives volume immediately: AestheFill works mainly through collagen and the result builds gradually. Which product suits you is decided at the consultation, based on the area, your skin density and the goal.
