Overview
ParamedFotona 4D is a laser protocol by the Slovenian company Fotona on its SP Dynamis platform: four Er:YAG (2940 nm) and Nd:YAG (1064 nm) modes — SmoothLiftin (from inside the mouth), FRAC3 and PIANO (deep heating) and SupErficial (a light resurfacing of the surface). ClearSkin (Alma Lasers, Israel) is a module of the Harmony XL Pro platform: a non-ablative fractional Er:Glass laser at 1540 nm. It heats the dermis in micro-columns without removing the surface layer and smooths skin texture. Paramed does not have a Fotona device; we perform ClearSkin on Harmony XL Pro. Contraindications apply.

How we choose
ParamedAt the consultation the doctor assesses texture, the depth of acne marks and your phototype, and decides whether ClearSkin is enough or a deeper fractional laser is needed.
How the methods work
ParamedThe key difference is the goal and the type of erbium laser. Fotona 4D is primarily about lifting: Nd:YAG heats the deep layers, and Er:YAG 2940 nm in the SupErficial step does a light ablative resurfacing. ClearSkin uses Er:Glass 1540 nm, a non-ablative laser: the surface is not removed, and thermal micro-columns in the dermis trigger collagen renewal. That makes ClearSkin a method for texture, pores and acne marks with minimal downtime.
