HIFU is a method, not a device: focused ultrasound creates coagulation points on the SMAS (4.5 mm). Accent Prime is RF + ultrasound working uniformly in the dermis at 1–4 mm. Different layers, different risks, different price.

HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a category, not a specific machine. On a price list the word can hide anything: premium Ulthera with visualization, Korean Ultraformer III/MPT and Doublo, Liftera — or an unbranded Chinese unit worth a couple of thousand dollars. The principle is the same: ultrasound is focused into points at 4.5 mm (SMAS), 3.0 and 1.5 mm, heating tissue to 60–70°C to trigger contraction and subsequent neocollagenesis. One session, effect at 3–6 months, repeat every 12–18 months. Accent Prime (Alma Lasers, Israel) is a different class: UniPolar RF heats the dermis uniformly to 40–43°C with no point coagulation and no consumables, over a 4–6 session course at transparent zone-based pricing. Paramed has no HIFU device — and that is a deliberate decision.
At the consultation the physician assesses the degree of ptosis, subcutaneous fat thickness, zones and contraindications. If you have true tissue ptosis and genuinely need a SMAS lift, we'll say so honestly: that's HIFU, threads or surgery — Paramed offers none of them, and we won't sell you RF dressed up as HIFU. If the goal is oval lifting, nasolabial folds, jowls, laxity, tone and skin quality, or prevention of age-related change — Accent Prime handles it more safely and for less: UltraFace for needle-free RF, Microplasma for fractional work, or a combination.
HIFU concentrates ultrasound energy into microscopic thermal coagulation zones at a strictly defined depth. That produces immediate tissue contraction and delayed lifting, but it works in points: tissue between them is untreated, and on most devices depth is controlled only by cartridge choice, without visualization. Accent Prime uses radiofrequency: UniPolar RF heats the full volume of the dermis uniformly across a broad area, with no points and no shot cap. On top of that: cold Sharewave ultrasound for subcutaneous fat and Microplasma (Pixel RF) — fractional RF via microneedles for skin quality, pores and scars.
No. Neither Ulthera, nor Ultraformer III, nor Ultraformer MPT, nor Doublo — no HIFU device is installed at Paramed. We do face lifting on Accent Prime (Alma Lasers, Israel): UniPolar RF + ultrasound + Microplasma.
Three reasons. First: the result is delayed by 3–6 months and is almost impossible to correct — if the protocol was misjudged, it can't be redone. Second: the HIFU market is flooded with unbranded and counterfeit units, and the word «HIFU» on a price list tells the patient nothing about what they're actually being treated with. Third: in slim patients HIFU can cause fat pad atrophy and visually age the face. Accent Prime delivers a controllable, cumulative result without those risks.
Not worse — different. If there's true tissue ptosis, RF won't replace it; the honest answer there is HIFU, threads or surgery. But for most patients aged 30–50 the goal is different: tighten the oval, reduce laxity and nasolabial folds, restore tone and radiance. Accent Prime does that better than HIFU, because it works on skin quality in parallel, not just the deep layer.
RF. Accent Prime heats the dermis uniformly to 40–43°C with continuous contact temperature control — burns and damage to deep structures are practically excluded. HIFU creates 60–70°C points at 4.5 mm blind, by anatomy: with wrong settings or an inexperienced operator, burns, neuropathic pain and fat pad loss are possible.
Full-face HIFU in Baku typically runs 500 to 1500+ AZN per session depending on the device and shot count. Accent Prime starts at 75 AZN per zone; a full face course is 600 AZN with the «pay for 3 — get the 4th free» promotion.
